A real need
A social need, a technological shift, an environmental or local challenge.
Grassroot innovation / Bologna / Since 2020
Innovation
is built.
We connect needs, people and skills to turn ideas into real possibilities.
Innovation demand + supply
A social need, a technological shift, an environmental or local challenge.
People, organisations, talent, tools and alliances able to build a response.
TechGarage designs the encounter and turns it into a working journey.
What we do
The workbench is where a challenge is observed, taken apart and put back together with the people who know it best.
The most useful ideas often emerge close to problems and within communities. We help them surface, find a common language and become proposals that can genuinely be worked on.
Tools to recognise a problem, build a proposal and work with others. The goal is not to teach formulas, but to train independence, initiative and the ability to test ideas.
Programmes built with organisations, companies and institutions around social and environmental challenges. Each one starts from an explicit need and jointly defines criteria, responsibilities and observable results.
Calls, workshops, mentoring and pilots become steps in a single project. TechGarage orchestrates the different players so that relationships keep creating value beyond any single event.
Method / From need to prototype
01 We listen
We start with people who live a need, know a place or want to tackle a change. Before any solutions, we gather experiences, weak signals and points of view that usually remain apart.
We collect questions, constraints, resources and opportunities to define a concrete challenge. The problem becomes understandable, well-bounded and precise enough to guide the work without closing it off too early.
We bring together those who know the problem with people and skills that can contribute. We look for complementarity, not mere attendance: everyone involved must know what they bring and what they can learn.
We map out goals, tools, beneficiaries, alliances and a realistic path. We translate ambition into a sequence of tests, responsibilities and decisions that are sustainable within the time available.
Mentoring, facilitation and prototyping turn an insight into something that can be tested. The prototype is there to learn early: it makes assumptions, limits and opportunities visible before investing in scale.
Results, relationships and lessons become the starting point for the next step. We report back on what worked and what needs fixing, so the value created can circulate and open up new possibilities.
The work goes on
Real challenges, skills and tools come together in programmes rooted in their communities, with results to be tested.
